Best Restaurants in Northern Siargao: Our 3 Favourite Places to Eat (2026 Guide)
If you’re staying in the North of Siargao and worried about missing out on the Siargao food scene, fear not! While General Luna certainly has the most density of restaurants, bars, and cafés on the island, Northern Siargao still has plenty to offer.
Whether you’re in search of traditional Filipino food, Mexican, Japanese, or even Latin American cuisine, you’ll find it in the north! On top of that you’ll find great ambience, and friendly locals to chat with.
We spent 11 days in Northern Siargao, eating out every night, so we have some recommendations to share. In no particular order, here they are:

Chévere
Budget: $

If you’re craving something different from traditional Filipino food, Chévere is one of the best restaurants in Pacifico. This Venezuelan-owned café serves fresh rice bowls, arepas, empenadas, sandwiches, smoothies and homemade kombucha just a short walk from the beach.
What first drew us in wasn’t actually the menu, it was the atmosphere. Every evening we’d drive past the restaurant and notice the softly lit outdoor seating, with candles creating such a cosy ambience – and we love a good ambience!
That first impression only got better once we sat down. The staff were incredibly welcoming and happy to chat with us about life on Siargao and the story behind the restaurant, which made the whole experience feel much more personal.
As for the food, this is where Chévere really shines. The fish rice bowl was fresh, and flavourful and we also loved the homemade kombucha and premium probiotic shakes —the Mango Tango and Banana Sana were both excellent. Harry ordered the pork sandwich that was running as a special at the time, and after enjoying it so much on our first visit, he ordered it again the second time we came back.
After such a great meal, we couldn’t leave without trying dessert. We ordered the tres leches and the chocolate cake, but they didn’t quite live up to the savoury dishes. The chocolate cake was a little too rich for our taste and was served cold, whereas we both prefer a warm chocolate cake. The tres leches was our favourite of the two, although we found it a touch on the sweet side. If you’re already a fan of tres leches, though, you’ll probably enjoy it much more than we did.
Overall, Chévere is a restaurant we’d happily return to again and again for the food, service, and ambience. It is not to be missed if you find yourself in Pacifico.
The Hub by Lokal Lab

If we could recommend just one restaurant in Northern Siargao, it would be The Hub by Lokal Lab in Burgos. More than just a place to eat, The Hub is a community-driven restaurant that celebrates Filipino ingredients while supporting local farmers and craftspeople across the island. The combination of a wonderful cause, incredible food, AND affordability made it easily our favourite in the north of Siargao.
Our guesthouse was in Pilar, meaning it took us around 30 minutes to drive to Burgos for dinner. We weren’t sure if it would be worth the trip initially but after our first meal, we came back again a few days later. That’s about as good a recommendation as we can give!

The menu takes traditional Filipino flavours and gives them a fresh, modern twist using locally sourced ingredients. Everything felt colourful, healthy and packed with flavour without losing the authenticity of the dishes.
On our first visit, I ordered the Talong & Tinapa Rice Bowl – an eggplant omelette served with smoked fish fried rice (wow) – and it was genuinely one of my favourite meals from our entire time on Siargao. Harry loved the Adobo Bowl, and we both agreed the Mungo Bowl was another standout. And whatever you do, don’t leave without ordering the Turon with coconut ice cream for dessert.
What made us love The Hub even more was learning the story behind it. Lokal Lab was created to connect visitors with local food, farmers and producers in Northern Siargao. As the project grew, the team recognised the challenges many farmers faced, leading them to establish a community marketplace in Burgos where local growers and buyers could connect directly. Today, The Hub helps fund those initiatives, meaning every meal supports the incredible work Lokal Lab continues to do across the island.
That’s one thing about us – we’re always SO drawn to restaurants with a story. If we get a good meal, nice ambience, and there’s a story behind the restaurant or the menu – you have us in your pocket, we are sold!! The Hub definitely did that for us and I’m not mad about it 🤍
If you’re exploring Northern Siargao, we’d honestly make this restaurant a priority but also they have just opened a General Luna branch so even if you don’t make it up make sure to stop by down south.
Cerveza

After a sunset surf at Bamboo surf spot, we often headed over to Cerveza for dinner. Also located in Pacifico, is the perfect place for a casual, quick bite that’s consistently good and affordable. Since we’ve been traveling long term, often we don’t feel like “dressing up” to go out for dinner so we LOVE to find places where you can show up in your swimsuit, still sandy and not feel out of place – that’s Cerveza!

On top of the casual atmosphere the staff were young, friendly Filipinos who organized events almost every night for backpackers. One evening we were there it was a movie night, the next karaoke. It was always a friendly vibe and as a solo traveler I can imagine it being a wonderful place to make some friends.
The menu offers a mix of traditional Filipino food and western – we always defaulted to the traditional food and were impressed. The standout for us was the pork belly – it was deliciously tender and came with a savory yet sweet glaze that reminded me almost of a hoisin sauce. We also loved the kare-kare, a traditional Filipino stew made with vegetables, pork and a thick peanut sauce, served with rice. If you’ve never tried kare-kare before, Cerveza is a great place to start.

Final Thoughts on the Best Restaurants in Northern Siargao
If you’re wondering whether staying in Northern Siargao means sacrificing good food, our answer is a definite no.
During our 11 days in the north, we genuinely didn’t have a bad meal. While General Luna undoubtedly offers more choice, we never felt like we were missing out.
What stood out to us wasn’t just the food – it was the people we met along the way. In Northern Siargao, life moves at a slower pace than in General Luna, so we found ourselves having great conversations with restaurant owners and staff wherever we went. Through those chats, we learned about Lokal Lab’s incredible work supporting local farmers at The Hub, and heard about the team’s role in organising the annual Siargao Marathon at Cerveza. Those interactions gave us a much deeper appreciation for the island. In General Luna, with the bigger crowds and faster pace, those kinds of conversations felt much harder to come by.
As budget travellers, we also loved the value for money. We rarely spent more than $20 USD for two people, but didn’t feel like we were compromising. You don’t need to spend a fortune to eat well in Northern Siargao.
FAQ
Is food cheaper in the north of Siargao versus General Luna?
We found food to be pretty consistently priced across the two places. Of course you’re going to pay more for western food as opposed to local food and there’s just more of that in General Luna so perhaps that’s why people believe that food is more expensive there. But if you eat local food in General Luna at local places, it’s still going to be cheap. There are more local options up north I would say and so you can eat at more affordable places but it won’t be western food.
Where’s the best place to eat in the north of Siargao?
In my opinion the best place is The Hub by Lokal Lab in Burgos.
What’s the best local food to try in Siargao?
I actually really love traditional Filipino food. Some of the best meals that I had on Siargao were Lechon, Kinilaw, Kare Kare, and Pork Sisig.

How much does it cost to eat in Siargao for one day?
We had breakfast included in our guesthouse so we were only buying coffee, lunch, and dinner. Our average spend for all of that offer the 2 weeks was ~$19 for dinner, ~$10 for lunch, ~$6 for coffee so on average $35 per day for 2 people – $17.50 per person.
